Setting up SPF and DKIM for GoDaddy

Monday, October 24, 2011
We have a tutorial for configuring SPF and DKIM for GoDaddy and it can be found here http://elasticemail.com/api-documentation/godaddy.

GoDaddy has the capability of sending email through SMTP Relay on their own servers.  There is a limitation however of 250 messages per day to be delivered through their SMTP servers (http://help.godaddy.com/article/345) without purchasing additional relays in minimum packs of 50.  This limitation is in place mainly to reduce spam being sent from their servers.  The limitation however stops legitimate email from being sent and GoDaddy customers are looking for alternatives like Elastic Email.

Another limitation for GoDaddy customers is that GoDaddy makes it quite challenging to call third party relay solutions such as Elastic Email as they block the ports required to connect (2525 or 25).  Here is one article on this from June of this year, but if you Google this topic there are many (http://phpquirks.blogspot.com/2010/01/godaddy-disallows-3rd-party-smtp-relay.html).

Elastic Email's REST API is a great alternative to calling the SMTP Relay for GoDaddy customers because it connects over port 80 or 443 (Secured Socket Layer) which are the standard internet ports that are of course open.  We have a number of Elastic Email customers doing this already with great success.  If you want to learn more about our REST API please visit http://elasticemail.com/api-documentation/send and http://elasticemail.com/api-documentation.

We would love more information how we can help GoDaddy customers easily configure Elastic Email into their business solutions.  Comment on this discussion or start a support discussion at http://support.elasticemail.com

We also have a new tutorial for CPanel which can be found here http://elasticemail.com/api-documentation/cpanel.
