Attracting new leads and growing your audience is the first step in every business email marketing strategy. It is as simple as that - without subscribers, all other email marketing efforts go in vain. We’ve been helping you build your email lists for years. You can build landing pages and signup web forms with Elastic Email, and then securely store your contact on your account. In the past, we improved our web form creator to be more intuitive and user-friendly. But, you could only create inline forms to be embedded in your website. Now, we present you with our brand-new pop-up forms creator!

TL;DR

Elastic Email's web form creator now supports pop-up forms in addition to inline forms. To create one, go to Audience > Forms > Create form, then choose Pop-up instead of Inline. Pop-up forms include the same core features as inline forms - drag-and-drop blocks, a template gallery, reCAPTCHA, mailing preferences, double opt-in, and GDPR compliance - plus one pop-up-specific setting: a configurable delay, in seconds, controlling how long a visitor is on the page before the form appears. Pre-designed templates are available in the gallery, fully customizable, and saved to your account for reuse.

When creating a new web form, you won’t miss the pop-up option in our app - trust us on that. In the Email Marketing product, when you click Audience in the left-hand side navigation menu, you’ll see Forms. Once you enter it and choose Create form, you will have to choose whether you want to create an Inline or Pop-up form.

In the pop-up form builder, you will find all the amazing features and interface you know from the inline form creator - intuitive drag-and-drop form blocks, a gallery of pre-designed templates, reCAPTCHA, mailing preferences, double opt-in, GDPR compliance or notifications. Since it’s a pop-up form, there is one more extra step - behavior. At this point, you set up the delay (in seconds) for when the form will appear after someone enters your website.

Need some inspiration for your pop-up forms? No worries. You don’t have to create your forms from scratch. You can choose one of our ready-made templates from the gallery and adjust it to your needs and brand style. Whatever your business and industry is, we’ve got you covered. All form templates will be saved to your account, so you can go back to them and edit them whenever you need.

FAQ

How do I create a pop-up form in Elastic Email?

Go to Audience > Forms in the Email Marketing product, select Create form, and choose Pop-up instead of Inline.

What's the difference between an inline form and a pop-up form?

Both share the same drag-and-drop builder, template gallery, and features like reCAPTCHA and double opt-in. Pop-up forms add one extra setting - "behavior" - which lets you set a delay before the form appears on the page.

Can I control when a pop-up form appears on my website?

Yes. In the pop-up form builder's behavior settings, you set the delay in seconds after someone enters your site before the form displays.

Does the pop-up form builder include spam protection?

Yes, it includes reCAPTCHA, the same as the inline form builder.

Are there pre-made templates for pop-up forms?

Yes. A gallery of ready-made templates is available to customize and adjust to your brand, and any templates you use are saved to your account for future editing.

Is the pop-up form feature available on the free plan?

This isn't specified in the article - worth confirming directly, since plan restrictions vary by feature on Elastic Email (for example, custom form fields require the Pro plan).
