The role that you are applying for may include planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting as well as backup and data recovery, so we require you to:

have knowledge of DDL/DML queries,

have knowledge of database design,

have knowledge of relational database management systems, eg. MySQL,

have general understanding of distributed computing architectures,

have general understanding of operating systems, eg. Linux or Windows,

have general understanding of storage technologies and networking,

have general understanding of routine maintenance, recovery and failover handling of databases,

have general knowledge of a scripting language like Bash or Powershell,

have good knowledge of system security,

have resourcefulness and problem-solving attitude,

have an ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment,

have good command of the English language (written and spoken),

knowledge of non-relational databases like MongoDB is a plus,

be reliable and trustworthy,

be a team player in an international team.

Role Overview:

As Database Specialist (Administrator), you will be responsible for:

installing and upgrading database servers,

allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for database systems,

modifying database structure in collaboration with development team,

maintaining system security,

monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database and maintaining production availability and stability to meet and exceed existing uptime goals,

planning for the backup and recovery of databases,

backing up and restoring the databases,

generating various reports by querying the database per requests of Elastic Email team members,

managing and monitoring data replication,

supporting daily database administrative tasks,
